We Put Paintings in Cookie Frames and It Was Amazing
This is one of those projects I'm still a little amazed actually happened.
We were invited to be part of Silver Soiree - a big celebration for Boston Business Women's 10th anniversary, with Image Events and Boston Magazine. A room full of incredible people from the events industry, all in one place.
During one of our planning calls, an idea came up: what if we collaborated with another creative at the event?
That's how we ended up working with Rabiha (@_rabihas_), a cookie artist whose work is honestly unreal. Her idea was to create edible cookie frames designed to hold our watercolor portraits.
I know. Custom frames. Made of cookies. For our paintings. I was immediately obsessed.
Making it work took some coordination- we had to figure out sizing and structure together (how thick the cookies needed to be, how big the portrait should be so that it actually fit, etcetera). To tie it all together with the event aesthetic, we stuck to silver, black, and glitter. (It was Silver Soiree, after all.)
On the night of the event, I painted watercolor and glitter portraits of the VIP guests, and each one got paired with one of Rabiha's cookie frames. So guests went home with a custom portrait AND a frame they could literally eat.
The reactions were SO fun to watch. People were genuinely surprised and delighted - which is the whole point of what we do.
This is the kind of work we love the most. Not just showing up and painting, but collaborating with other creatives to make something that feels curated, special, and specific to that particular event. When guests leave feeling like someone really thought about their experience, that's when we know it worked.
