The Art of Being Present

My creative journey started with Saturday morning Bob Ross sessions in the '80s, wound through a 20-year corporate design career, and then came full circle during Covid when my daughter inspired me to pick up a brush again. After two decades away from painting, I'd forgotten how it felt to lose myself in art, to watch something beautiful emerge on paper. I spent a few years simply re-learning how to play and be free.

But, the real turning point came when I had the idea to paint live at an event. I brought my watercolors and paper and really didn’t know what to expect when something amazing happened: people started gathering around. Strangers began talking to each other. The art became this thing that dissolved the walls between people.

That's when I realized: art isn't just about the final piece. It's about what happens while it's being created.

Soon enough, corporate clients and wedding planners started asking if I could bring that experience to their events. They weren't just looking for a thing - they wanted that special thing that would make people feel connected, present, and seen.

That's exactly what we do. Our artists create live portraits and customized art pieces at corporate events and luxury celebrations throughout New England, Florida and beyond. We paint memories as they unfold. We turn gatherings into interactive experiences where creativity sparks conversation and everyone leaves with something beautiful.

And here's the thing I've learned: the art itself is almost secondary. What people remember is being in the moment. Watching a painting come to life in real time. Having a stranger say, "This is beautiful! I’ll treasure it forever.”

In a world of go go go, there is power in presence.

I've had the privilege of working with corporate clients such as Delta, Rhone, and Patron and being part of countless celebrations. Every single one reinforces what I believed at that very first event; there is magic in creating art. It has the power to bring people together in the most unexpected ways.

If you're planning something special and want to create that kind of moment for your guests, we would love to create that for you.
